{when j met s}

It's hard for me to remember my life without Jake. I feel like we've known each other forever & that is exactly how I felt the first time we met. It was the fall of our freshman year at The University of Alabama and we knew of each other through friends. I know with all certainty God created Jake to be my husband & me to be his wife. We balance one another. He is my best friend & I am so blessed to go through the journey of life with him. I'll never forget the first time he made my heart skip a beat. He called to wish me a happy birthday at the exact time I was born, to the minute. It was 6:48a & I was in the Eastern time zone. But that doesn't surprise me at all about Jake because that is who he is. Thoughtful. Attentive. Caring.

January 13, 2005 we went on our first date. Jake told me about 2 weeks later that he knew he would marry me. While I wasn't hearing wedding bells quite as quickly, I always felt at home with Jake. I could be in my sweats & t-shirt without any make-up & dirty hair & Jake would still tell me that I was beautiful.

Jake is my better half. He challenges me to be the best at everything I do. He encourages & supports me in whatever I attempt. He loves all of me unconditionally. He leads & protects our home. I love him more with each day that passes. Our journey together this far has been so rewarding & I am so excited to spend the rest of my days loving my sweet husband.
